February

Hello everyone--

Yesterday was warm here in Indy and we got a rare glimpse of the sun!! It made me ready for spring. We are anxiously awaiting the end of these gray winter days. I think we are all stir-crazy and ready for a change.

February went by quickly for us. We started off with a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge in Cincinnati with our friends the Harbrons and the Belts. We had 10 kids between our 3 families so we were busy just keeping track of where everyone was! You'll see them in our pictures this month.

We continued our Valentine's Day tradition (5th year in a row!) of getting up early and going to IHOP for breakfast! Quinn and Clara's school used Valentine's Day to focus on friendship and giving, and many classes worked together on service projects. I had no idea they were looking for ideas when I asked Clara's teacher if her class could sign some Valentine cards for patients at the Cancer Center at the U of Michigan (every year they distribute cards and my mom received a bag of cards last year). Instead, she asked if ALL of the 3rd graders could make their own cards to send! Quinn's class worked together to make 5 fleece blankets to send to the hospital, too. It was neat to see the students working together and it was a great way to give back to the hospital just a little bit.
My grandma was in town for a few days as well, so we were able to have dinner with her and some friends.

Quinn and Clara are wrapping up basketball in the next couple of weeks. They both completed projects for the school science fair and did a great job. Millie continues to pirouette around and has taken to practicing her plies! Zane started gymnastics with his friend Jonathan this month, too. Our Wednesdays are crazy with an activity for all 4 kids...I finally gave up trying to cook anything on Wednesdays!

We are looking forward to a trip to Minnesota at the end of the month during our Spring Break. There seems to be something wrong about going NORTH for spring break, but that's what we're doing! :o) We are looking forward to seeing Brian and Courtney in Wisconsin and then visiting some friends in the Twin Cities.
