April 2009

April proved to be busier than ever with the start of baseball/softball season and a last mad rush to get in way too many choir concerts! We started the month with spring break. We had a great week of time off. We got a few things done at home before heading away for the weekend. We spent two nights at the Kalahari in Sandusky (our now annual waterpark weekend with the Harbrons) and then went to Ann Arbor for one night before heading home. We had a great time swimming and watersliding (if that's a word) and a good visit with Grandpa. We were able to, with the help of Grandpa and a good friend, to pick out a new violin for Clara. We thought she should give her violin a name. In true Clara fashion, her violin is named after a horse..."Blaze" is a pony in one of her favorite series of books. The same books that were Uncle Scott's favorites when he was a kid! She sounds awesome on her new instrument and has been really excited to play. Her violin teacher jokingly asked her how she got one that came with vibrato! :o) She is hoping to play for an upcoming event at school. Quinn, Clara, and Zane have been participating in an extra curricular club called "Math Pentathalon" this year, and they had their tournaments this month. They all did a great job!
