The 3rd and 4th graders at Mary Castle have been learning to play the recorder using a program called "Recorder Karate." Each song they learn earns them a new "belt" (a piece of colored yarn). Look at how many the kids have earned so far!! We were treated to a concert of songs (again...I found myself thankful I was not in charge of getting 100 kids to play their recorders at the right time!)

This was our first year to participate in the AWANA Grand Prix. While our cars were not very fast and we didn't win any special prizes, we DID have fun and got some good ideas for next year!

We went to a lecture by Eric Carle (author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar) It wasn't the most interesting thing for the kids, but we DID learn how he makes his pictures--they are collages that he makes out of tissue paper that he has painted.

Millie's ballet class is over now. She got to put her hair in a real ballerina bun and wear a crown and tutu!!
Quinn and Clara were baptized at Church at the Crossing on April 26.
The 3rd grade field trip was to the Art Museum.
Clara paints her own Impressionist painting in the gardens of the museum.
