The day she's been waiting for finally arrived! Millie turned 7 today. We started the day with breakfast at LePeep, and Millie opened ONE present...a new book by one of our family's favorite authors, Kate DiCamillo. Then we were off to church and then home for Mom to ice the cake. Grandpa arrived from Ann Arbor and after orchestra rehearsal we opened presents (more good books and plenty of new outfits for the American Girls) and then went out for dinner and back home for cake.
Millie won a birthday part in a raffle at school, so Tuesday she'll have her "friend party" and Monkey Joe's (a bounce-house place). That would be the reason behind the monkey cake...she wanted all monkey stuff. And since we often say she IS a monkey, I did my best to follow through for her. Here are some pictures from today...more coming after the party on Tuesday!
