String weekend

Last weekend was busy, busy around here. Quinn and Clara have been taking private lessons on cello and violin from Cindy Newton since we moved back to Indiana in 2007. Since then, I have also had the privilege of being the recital accomplanist. Mrs. Newton is getting ready to move to Boston (we are quite sad about this) and she had a big recital last weekend to show off all of her students.

Typically at her recitals each student gets up to play a solo piece they've been working on. This recital was different because there were just a handful of solos and then some duets and ensemble pieces. There were lots of extra rehearsals leading up to the recital, but was worth it...the students all did a fabulous job. Here are some pictures...the videos didn't turn out so great, but I will try to post a few short clips soon!
