We had a Saturday with nothing on the calendar, which is always cause for celebration here. The kids had a friend who spent the night Friday, but other than that we were free to do whatever we wanted. The kids all headed down to the basement Saturday morning after watching a few cartoons. They were being so quiet that we almost hated to disturb them by having breakfast, but we did (Daddy's yummy chocolate waffles with homemade whipped cream). After breakfast they headed right back downstairs. They played together WITHOUT FIGHTING for at least eight straight hours on Saturday. My kids all normally get along really well with each other, but even this was impressive! I finally decided to be brave and head down to see the "fort" I'd been told about...
Umm...guys? Are there ANY blankets left upstairs?

Once the fort was done, they spent the afternoon either reading, playing video games, or napping in the fort. After dinner and showers they headed back down to watch a movie and have a sleepover. What a fun day!!

That is awesome! We had a day like that on Saturday too. It can really help your outlook on life when they just get busy.
ReplyDeleteIt WAS nice. Millie was cracking us up...she changed the color of her "carpet" several times during the day :o) The best part is that they are old enough to fold up the blankets and put things away! I didn't do any of the clean-up and it looks pretty decent down there.
